Official’s Development program is open to any ACUSA member who wish to become certified umpire and scorer under Cricket Canada Official’s Development Program.

The aim of these programs is to provide an official with the basic skills and knowledge to officiate a cricket match at the local league level, provincial level and national level respectively.

Umpire Level 1 | Provisional Umpire

Multiple Choice, True or False, Fill in the Blanks, Out or Not-Out
Duration: 1.0 Hour | Pass mark 70% in both Part A & B.

Candidates must demonstrate a reasonably good knowledge of the current MCC Laws (Part A) and the basic ICC Standard Playing Conditions (Part B) for limited overs matches.

Umpire Level 2 | Intermediate Umpire

Candidates must pass both Part A and B.
Duration: 2.5 Hours | Pass mark 75%.

Candidates must demonstrate a very good knowledge of the current MCC Laws (Part A) and the ICC Standard Playing Conditions for limited overs matches including the manual Duckworth/Lewis method, Last Hour Calculation and Bonus Point calculations (Part B).

Umpire Level 3 | Qualified Umpire

Candidates must pass both Part A and B.
Duration: 3.0 Hours | Pass mark 80%.
This qualification requires successful on-field assessments by umpires appointed by Cricket Canada.

Candidates must demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the current MCC Laws (Part A) including LBW and the ICC Standard Playing Conditions for limited overs matches including the Duckworth/Lewis method, Last Hour Calculation and Bonus Point calculations (Part B).

Some answers to the questions require detailed explanations. Candidates must pass both Parts A and B and the LBW questions. Cricket Canada Qualified Umpires are capable of standing in any cricket match up to the national level.
